Love Works…Well continues this Sunday @ ValleyPoint!

“Love Works…Well” continues this Sunday! I’ll be asking and answering the question, “what about those I hate?” What should we do? What can we do? Is there an answer. The good news is, there is an answer. I’ll be sharing a powerful story of forgiveness with you from Genesis 15 (read it before Sunday). What we’re going to discover is that forgiveness brings freedom. If you missed the talk last week on marriage, you can listen here!

I shared the announcement last Sunday that Bradley Brittain, our student ministry director, has resigned. I’m very thankful for the two years that Brad and Naomi have given to our students and ValleyPoint Church. On Sunday morning I’ll be praying for them and then all students (6th – 12th grade) are invited to the Bethel Road Campus from 6:30-8pm on Sunday night for a time to encourage Brad and Naomi. Come hungry!

Upcoming events at ValleyPoint:

+ Child Dedication – Sunday, May 11th (Mother’s Day)

Our Child Dedication Celebrations are a beautiful ceremony of the promise between parents and God on behalf of the child. Child dedication is not the finish, but only the beginning of a spiritual commitment in the home for your child. As a prerequisite to the Child Dedication Celebration, parents must attend a Child Dedication Class offered at the middle school on Sunday, May 4th at 10:15am. This class sets the course for how the church can partner with you as a parent in your child’s spiritual development. Questions can be directed to Dan McInnes at dan@valleypointchurch.com.

+ Love Day – Meal Packing Event on Sunday, May 25th

Go. Serve. Love at ValleyPoint Church as we pack 10,000 (yes…10,000!!) nutritious meals for hungry children. This will take place in the cafeteria from 10:30 to 11:30am. Sign-up at the Just For You table in the lobby this Sunday.  This event will be good for kids 4 years and older. This day will also feature a guest worship band called Willet. They are a band comprised of brothers, Jeremy, Justin and Jordan Willet from Westminster, MD with a vision to serve unreached people globally. They will share musically with us as well as their passion for helping kids around the world suffering from hunger.

+ Save the Date – Outdoor Baptism on Sunday, June 1st.

Our next baptism will take place outside on the first Sunday in June. If you’ve recently trusted Christ, or have never been baptized, we’d love for you to participate! You can sign-up on your Connection Card this Sunday.

Austin and the band are raring to go, and I believe God is going to do a powerful work in peoples’ lives this Sunday. Please scroll through the names of those you know who could benefit from a service around this theme. Then be bold and invite them to join you (you can extend an e-invite here). Who knows what God might do?

See you on Sunday!
