Check This Out

White Napkin Sunday has arrived! It’s a unique day…hope to see you there.

Sunday is going to be fun! I hope you can be there. When you arrive on Sunday, you will be given a white napkin as well as a pen.  We’ll be using napkins to take notes (even draw) this week as we discuss how the church can avoid “mission drift.” It’s going to be a nice family chat, and I hope you walk away with a new tool for inviting as well as for talking about what God has done for you.

We launch a new season on Sunday, September 13th! It’s going to be a memorable day. Not only do we begin a new series (which you can read about below), but we will also host our next baptism celebration. If you have trusted in Jesus alone to save you and are ready to make that decision public – CONGRATULATIONS! We invite you to participate. This event will take place between our two gatherings at 10:30am. Pastries and pretzels will also be served. Register here.

We have some great weeks in front of us! Please read through the rest of this note as it includes information about OnPoint (6-12th grade students), men’s and women’s events, and our next Love Day (September 19th).

Just For You…

+ OnPoint (6-12th grade students): Don’t forget – breakfast is served on Sunday from 10:30-10:55am for all students. Parents, this is also a great way for you to meet our student director, Willie Roldan. OnPoint meets again on Sunday, September 13th at 4:30pm.

+ Men of Ice: Next meeting – Saturday, September 12th at 7:30am. All men are invited, and breakfast will be served! Men of Ice meets at the Bethel Road Campus.

+ Real Women: All women are welcome to a night of chocolate at the Bethel Road Campus on Saturday, September 12th at 7pm. “Staying Sweet” will be a topic to help us keep our attitudes right during the ups and downs of daily life. Michelle Kitron will give us key organizing strategies. Melissa Broyles will help us learn how to make healthy life choices, and Tonia Koehler will encourage us to see people through new glasses. Blending these three topics will help us “stay sweet.” Bring a little of your favorite chocolate dessert to share (or fruit) and a friend. Childcare will be provided.

+ Group life at ValleyPoint: The sign-up has begun for the fall semester. Becoming part of a group is a fantastic choice. It gives you the opportunity to make new friends, give you a more intimate place to belong to the wider church, and help you to grow in your relationship with God. Plus, they’re a lot of fun! You’ll be able to sign-up this Sunday.

+ “The Story” launch: Starting Sunday, September 13th, ValleyPoint will embark on a church-wide journey through the Bible! This new teaching series will run throughout all of our ministries. KidPoint, OnPoint Students, and our Life Groups will all follow the same storyline. “The Story” is a condensed chronological walk through the entire Bible. Through this series, we will discover how our story fits into God’s story.

Happy Labor Day Weekend! I’ll see you on Sunday…

Eric

P.S. I would love for you to join me for our first Love Day of this new season on Saturday, September 19th. These days are so energizing! The compassion efforts of ValleyPoint begin close to home where we seek to be a church for the community. We believe that our primary calling is to reach and serve the people in our backyard. We do this through regular investments in the communities around us and strategic local partnerships. We simply go, serve, and love while expecting nothing in return! You can see the different opportunities here. 8:30am – Meet at the Bethel Road Campus for sign-up, breakfast, and prayer. 9:00am – Teams disperse. Serving events will end around noon.
