Check This Out

The Story launch & Baptism…it all happens this Sunday at ValleyPoint!

The Story has arrived!  Starting this Sunday, we will embark on a church-wide journey through the Bible! The Story is a condensed chronological walk through the entire Bible. Through this series, we will discover God’s master plan unfolding in the lives of the Bible’s characters as well as in our lives. We will also experience the joy that comes as we align our story with God’s!

You can also purchase The Story in book form. Selections of Scripture with short transitions help connect each story from week to week. You can use the book for personal or family devotions and know what narrative will be covered each Sunday. Books can be purchased this Sunday for $10.

And…we have the chance to encourage several people who will be getting baptized this Sunday! This event will take place between our two gatherings at 10:30am. If you attend the 9:15 gathering – please stay a few minutes longer.  If you normally come at 11am – please arrive a few minutes early so we can cheer on those taking this significant step.  It’s not too late to register if you still want to be baptized.  Register here.

Come a few minutes early if you check-in children. All environments move back to their regular school year locations. Please allow a few extra minutes for check-in as we  update our records for the new school year. Check-in opens 15 minutes prior to each gathering time.

Just For You…

+ OnPoint (6-12th grade students): Breakfast is served on Sunday from 10:30-10:55am for all students. OnPoint will also meet at the Bethel Road Campus at 4:30pm.

+ Men of Ice: Next meeting – Saturday, September 12th at 7:30am. All men are invited, and breakfast will be served. Men of Ice meets at the Bethel Road Campus.

+ Real Women: All women are welcome to a night of chocolate at the Bethel Road Campus on Saturday, September 12th at 7pm. “Staying Sweet” will be a topic to help us keep our attitudes right during the ups and downs of daily life. Michelle Kirton will give us key organizing strategies. Melissa Broyles will help us learn how to make healthy life choices, and Tonia Koehler will encourage us to see people through new glasses. Blending these three topics will help us “stay sweet.” Bring a little of your favorite chocolate dessert to share (or fruit) and a friend. Childcare will be provided

+ Love Day – Saturday, September 19th: It’s the first Love Day of this new season on Saturday, September 19th. These days are so energizing! The compassion efforts of ValleyPoint begin close to home where we seek to be a church for the community. We believe that our primary calling is to reach and serve the people in our backyard. We do this through regular investments in the communities around us and strategic local partnerships. We simply go, serve, and love while expecting nothing in return! You can see the different opportunities here. 8:30am – Meet at the Bethel Road Campus for sign-up, breakfast, and prayer. 9:00am – Teams disperse. Serving events will end around noon.

I’ll see you on Sunday as we begin The Story. Have a great weekend…

Eric

P.S. It’s not too late to extend an invite for this Sunday! It’s going to be a memorable day. Take a risk, use the invite cards given out last Sunday, and ask someone to come with you as we begin The Story.
