Love Days
The compassion efforts of ValleyPoint begin close to home where we seek to be a church for the community. We believe that our primary calling is to reach and serve the people in our backyard. We do this through regular investments in the communities around us and local strategic partnerships.
Simply show up, sign up for the event you would like to participate in, then GO!
Schedule for Saturday, April 21st
8:30 AM – Everyone meets at the Bethel Office Road Campus.
8:30-8:50 AM – Sign-ups and light breakfast.
8:50 AM – Prayer.
9:00 AM – Teams will disperse to GO. SERVE. LOVE.
Cityteam serves people in extreme poverty by helping them transform their lives, their families, and their communities. Hope Cafe offers a dignified restaurant experience to those who are homeless or impoverished.
Project: We will be working at CityTeam to help prepare for their Hope Cafe on Saturday night. We will be rolling flatware and helping out in the kitchen area. Children are welcome but should be well supervised.
Siloam United Methodist Church is dedicated to serving those in the Garnet Valley community. In coordination with the schools and agencies in the area, Siloam Food Pantry can distribute provisions to those who need it most.
Project: We will be working with Siloam Church to help in the food pantry in any ways needed.
Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission was established with a simple goal in mind: to serve breakfast every Sunday to Wilmington’s poor and homeless while sharing with them the love of Jesus Christ.
Project: We will be working at the Wilmington location by providing general cleaning needs as well as work in the warehouse, sorting and making food packages. Children are welcome but should be well supervised.
Project: We will be assisting the Garnet Valley Schools with general maintenance and cleaning needs.
TCA is a private, Christian school, located in Brookhaven, PA, where several students from our church attend.
Project: We will be working on the school grounds, including spreading mulch and trimming bushes. Please bring trimmers, if possible. Children are welcome but should be well supervised.
Go. Serve. Love.
These three words describe how we seek to obey God and compassionately serve others. This is our quest. An external focus that meets the needs of others is something extremely close to God’s heart. As we go, serve, and love in our backyard and around the world we get a chance to partner with God and be part of His plan to bring hope to the world. With words of love and works of love we want to selflessly serve our neighbors, schools, and communities while helping the defenseless, marginalized, and oppressed. We do this in our own backyard and through strategic partnerships around the world. We do all of this without expecting anything in return. We do this because it’s what Jesus would do.
Go. Serve. Love. In Our Backyard.
Love Days are our church-wide initiatives where we simply serve our surrounding communities. These Love Days are exciting events where we get a chance to make a difference right where we live. Through partnering with organizations, schools, and ministries, we have the opportunity to meet practical needs while serving others without expecting anything in return.
ValleyPoint partners with ministries and organizations right here in the Delaware Valley, who are committed to making a difference. Go. Serve. Love. in our backyard gives us a chance to repair and restore while making a difference where God has placed us.
