Stepping Forward
Stepping Forward – October 2024 Update
Stepping Forward – September 2024 Update
Exciting news – work is progressing on ValleyPoint’s Wellness Center! The design and renovation of the church parsonage began in June, with most of the demolition completed and the construction of new walls underway. Plans include replacing the HVAC and plumbing with ADA-compliant fixtures and installing new doors, windows, lighting, flooring, landscaping, and paving modifications near the lower entrance. Your generosity to the “Stepping Forward” campaign makes all of this possible. Thank you for sacrificing so that we can use the buildings and property we have to serve others! There are three parts to “Stepping Forward.” The Wellness Center (providing compassionate counseling, grief care, and other services), Office Building renovation for greater ministry use (especially for our 6th through 12th-grade students), and Land Development and Shaping (including walking trails and a playground in a park-like setting).
Stepping Forward – August 2024 Update
As we move into August, here is an update on our STEPPING FORWARD campaign! Our meetings with T&M Associates continue as we explore plans for land development. Our preliminary plans have been submitted to Concord Township for review. Exciting progress is being made on developing a playground; we are currently reviewing the layout and design plans with a potential vendor. The initial demolition work at the Wellness Center is complete, including removing fences, yard debris, bushes, and other items. We are now moving forward with developing remodeling plans. Thank you for your ongoing generosity and prayers as we step forward!
Stepping Forward – July 2024 Update
We have exciting progress to share about “Stepping Forward!” Please continue to pray, and thank you for your generosity! Last week, we held a kick-off meeting with T&M Associates, our land development engineering firm. They are currently preparing preliminary sketch plans for initial submittal to Concord Township for review. Additionally, preliminary demolition work at the Wellness Center has started, and a 40-cubic-yard dumpster has already been filled. We are making progress!
Stepping Forward – June 2024 Update #2
Exciting News! We are pleased to announce that we have selected T&M Associates to provide land development engineering services. T&M Associates is dedicated to improving neighborhoods, infrastructure, and environments one project at a time. We are thrilled that our church is now one of their projects and look forward to partnering with them to achieve our goals through the Stepping Forward Campaign. T&M has a strong track record in our area, including projects for the Garnet Valley School District. We received four competitive bids for this project. ValleyPoint’s team carefully evaluated each bid based on price, experience, and overall value. We are confident that T&M Associates is the best choice to help us step forward. Thank you for your prayers and generosity!
Stepping Forward – June 2024 Update
Continue to pray for “Stepping Forward.” Here is the latest update shared at the Annual Church Meeting on May 21st. Once we award the land development engineering contract, we anticipate a 12 – 15-month process for engineering and permitting work (primarily on our unused property). A Wellness Center team has been formed, and by-weekly meetings have begun. A team to work on the Office Building has been formed and will start meeting shortly. Various playground contractors have been reviewed, and options are being evaluated. Additionally, financial review meetings are held bi-weekly. An overall project engineering and construction schedule is being developed, and we will share it once it is secure. Thank you for praying and for your generosity!
Stepping Forward – April 2024 Update #2
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have received $985,750 in two-year commitments, bringing us within $14,250 of our $1,000,000 goal. Your support is truly invaluable. Thank you! The Building Team issued the Request for Proposal for Land Development, and prospective bidders were welcomed to a pre-bid meeting and site walk-down on April 19th. The bid submission deadline is set for May 3rd. Please continue to pray and watch for more updates. Once again, thank you for your support as we are “Stepping Forward.”
Stepping Forward – April 2024 Update
We are excited to share that we have made excellent progress in the three areas of our “Stepping Forward” campaign. Thanks to your generosity, we have now received $960,000 in two-year commitments! Thank you for your generosity. The Building Team has been hard at work developing a Request for Proposal for Land Development Engineering for our project. The proposal was sent to prospective bidders on April 5th, and the bid due date is May 3rd. The team is also creating a project schedule to guide the process.
Stepping Forward – March 2024 Update
Sunday, March 10th, was a special day for us as a church as we concluded “Stepping Forward” with a time of commitment. It was beautiful to see the church, led by our children, move in faith! On Sunday, March 17th, we shared that after assimilating all of the information and counting all the coins in the cans from our kids, we made commitments of $887,331 over regular giving and over twenty-four months. However, since March 17th, our commitments have moved to $932,432! Thanks be to God! The commitment amount is a strong response! Our goal was not to sit still but to use what we have to strengthen our church and love our communities. By God’s grace and through the church’s generosity, we are “STEPPING FORWARD.” We have a building team led by Rich Kirk, one of ValleyPoint’s elders, initiating action. The Building Team will report to the Elders. Our heart’s desire and goal is to steward the generosity of God’s people carefully. The Building Team will seek competent, cost-effective bids throughout the process and provide professional oversight on behalf of the church. The Building Team will not receive compensation or “inside” contract work. We will provide updates along the journey. If you still want to participate and make a commitment, you can do so at any point throughout the next 24 months. Church, thank you for stepping forward. We are excited to see how God uses our land and buildings to point people to real relationships and significance.
