Connection Groups
Where Do You See Yourself?
FIND YOUR PEOPLE
Connection, Engagement, and Fun!
Connection Groups are small groups of couples and individuals that provide a place to connect with others, share life, gain encouragement, and mature in faith. We offer a variety of groups for young singles, adult singles, couples, men, and women.
WHAT ARE CONNECTION GROUPS?
“Yes, whatever a person is like, I try to find common ground with him so he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him.” 1 Corinthians 9:22
We were not made to walk through life alone. God created us for community, and Connection Groups provide a place for you to connect with others.
A place to LOVE each other.
“We know what real love is because Jesus gave up His life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.” 1 John 3:16
When we do life together, our problems become smaller as God uses others to bring support and encouragement to our lives. Connection Groups become a place where others don’t just know your name but care about what is happening in your life and want to support you in your spiritual journey.
A place to GROW together.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17
We believe every person is created with God-given potential to make a difference in the world. Connection Groups are a place you can grow with others to become more like Jesus and reach the potential God has put inside you.
We offer groups for young singles, adult singles, couples, men, and women. Whatever your walk of life, you can connect at ValleyPoint! Please take a moment to share a few pieces of information with us so that we can help get you into a group and ensure a positive and meaningful experience for you!
Additional questions can be sent to Ben Jones at ben@valleypointchurch.com.
May God…help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Jesus Christ. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6
Four Things to Know About Connection Groups at ValleyPoint:
#1: Groups should be relationally and spiritually rewarding.
We want each of our groups to be a place where you can find friendships that will last a lifetime. Our leaders work hard to ensure relationships are a focus. However, that is not the only objective. Spiritual growth toward a mature faith must also occur. Groups are social, but they are also spiritually beneficial.
#2: How to join a group.
We want your first experience with a connection group to be a positive one. Our Associate Pastor, Ben Jones, leads our group ministry and will work to get to know you personally and help you get into a group that will best help you connect relationally and grow spiritually. His contact is ben@valleypointchurch.com. You can begin by clicking the “Find a Connection Group” button above.
#3:Everyone can join a group.
Our hope is for every person at ValleyPoint to be connected in the community through a group. You do not have to be a member of ValleyPoint or complete any requirements to join. All are welcome.
#4: There is an opportunity to lead or be a host home for a group.
Leading a connection group is an honorable undertaking. A Connection Group leader is not a role to take on lightly. The leader must commit to spending time with God, spending time in preparations for their group’s meeting, and be willing to invest time and energy into their group participants beyond their regular meeting time. While it is a weight to carry, there is a great reward! The reward is getting a front row seat to seeing people grow in their faith and mature spiritually while building meaningful relationships that last.
