God Owns Everything

I Chronicles 29:12-14 tells us that “Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength. 13 “O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name! 14 But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!” A generous heart begins with an understanding that everything I have comes from God. Because God owns everything, I can hold what he has given to me with open hands and share generously.

Generosity is the Path to a Great Life

1 Timothy 6:18-19 tells us to …”be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.” While giving can be a scary thing because we worry about what we may lose, generosity is not something to fear as true joy comes when giving to God and others.

Generosity Refreshes Others

Proverbs 11:25 tells us that “The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. Think about this…when I give to God – my generosity creates opportunities to share love at a deep point of personal need while selflessly serving others. And…IT REFRESHES!
